Google Advertisements Account Managers Shouldn’t Contact Customers Directly

There are a growing variety of reports throughout the web of Google Advertisements accounts managers threatening to contact customers directly, despite not being permitted to.

According to the reports, firms who do not respond to emails from Google Advertisements account managers are being met with dangers from Google reps to contact customers directly.

Sometimes, the Google Ads account managers call customers and inform them to drop their companies.

There are 2 things to explain here:

  1. Agencies are not needed to talk to Google associates
  2. At no point needs to a Google Ads account manager call an agency’s client

A Google Ads associate informing clients to fire their company crosses the line.

Nevertheless, these reports are becoming more frequent.

Matt Janaway, CEO of Marketing Labs, shared his experience on LinkedIn this week:

support our advertisers and company partners.” Screenshot from: linkedin.com/posts/mattjanaway, November 2022. Janaway isn’t alone in his experience. Throughout October, reports circulated on Reddit of Google representatives taking part in comparable practices. One Reddit user posted a screenshot of an e-mail gotten by a Google Ads Account

Strategist, which checks out: “I am writing to you one last time as a courtesy, since my sincere objective is to offer you

worth and innovative techniques with google ads and work with you carefully, to help you conserve time and make your customers more successful with google ads, hence I am calling you for the last time to notify you that if I do not reach you, I will assume that you are not getting my e-mails and will contact the clients that I have been designated directly.”Another Reddit user has nearly the same story, stating they

‘ve been “bugged”with everyday e-mails from a Google Ads representative to get on a call and execute campaign modifications. Again, firms aren’t obligated to talk to Google reps or execute modifications clients aren’t requesting. Ought to you receive an e-mail like the one above, the best thing to do is send a grievance via

Google’s main type. Beware of these aggressive sales methods. As long as you’re not breaking any policies, Google has no say over

how you run your customers’campaigns. Featured Image: FGC/Best SMM Panel
